May Message from your Past President

WOW!  Time flies when you are having fun.  It is already May…time for spring cleaning to be done.  As I look around my work area, my home and the yard, I just want to keep cleaning house.  In re-reading “A Word from our President”, it looks like I am not alone.  Hopefully, you are doing better than I am and have already accomplished your spring cleaning.

Didn’t Lisa Ryan and her team do a grand job on the spring newsletter?  Just when you think you know all the computer tips/tricks, you actually learn something new.  Don’t know what I am referencing……look at page 3 of the newsletter.   Page 4 gives us tips on how we can be healthy including some very, easy to do stress busters.  On the last page we get some tips on goal setting.  In summary, do yourself a favor and re-read the spring newsletter.  Oh, and don’t you just love the new website look?  Our Association Administrative Assistant, Eileen O’Reilly has done a great job with our new look and feel.

We have an awesome conference planned for you.  I look forward to seeing you in Spokane October 6 through 8.  You should be receiving the agenda and registration form within the next few days.  Watch the website for more details.

April Greetings

As you may know, the Board attempts to keep our communication alive by assigning a board member to communicate each month that there is no "NetWork".  I'm our April designee and apologize it's so late in the month, but wanted to wait until we had our board meeting this month so that I could share updates.

We managed through a tough year last year and I'm so proud to say we are already practicing the theme of this year's conference which is Refresh, Rejuvenate and Reenergize by returning our membership to good, strong levels - we've increased from 61 in 2009 to 87 at this point and are expecting even greater numbers as we approach this year's conference.

Speaking of which...OH MY GOODNESS, are you going to be blown away by what we have planned for you?!  We're very excited to report that we have secured some amazing speakers, all of which have been with us previously and who were so well received that the membership asked us to bring them back.  Do you remember Deanna Davis?  How about Pam Thompson or the duo of Skipper and Gilligan (Carole Maloney and Lisa Goren)?  Yep...we have them all - BLOW OUT!

For your planning purposes, know that our three day conference will begin on Wednesday, October 6th at noon and end on Friday, October 8th at 3 p.m.  If you don't plan to stay the whole time you will miss Carole and Lisa (you don't even want to think about doing that!).  Here's a link to our conference site - the Davenport in Spokane, WA.

And, one last little note, another innovation regarding this year's conference is that we are going to offer an additional cost incentive for "early bird" registration.

So... look for more news to come and get ready for this year's conference to knock your socks off!

Membership Drive 2010

It’s time to join, or renew, your AHCAA membership!

As the cliché goes, membership has its privileges. If you’re reading this in the quarterly newsletter, you are probably already a member and well aware of the great benefits of membership in AHCAA. For me, the number one benefit has been the camaraderie and networking among members. This organization is made up of people that reach out to help you be the best you can be (whoa, I think I just robbed another cliché)! The shared resources and conferences are provided to help you excel in your professional journey.

If you are interested in joining AHCAA, or are encouraging others to join, please visit our website for a membership application form: www.ahcaa.org. Click the Join AHCAA tab on the left. For our current members, your Membership Renewal Invoice will be sent to you via email in January. The annual membership fee is holding steady at only $100. This, my friends, is a bargain we hope you take advantage of in 2010!
