Vice President's Message

Whew!  I don’t’ know about you, but May came in like a lion and hasn’t left.  What with Nurses’ week and Hospital week piled on top of our regular work, we were kept hopping.  I don’t’ really mind as it gets the adrenalin going;  the heart pumping and then the day is done before you know it.

I think that comes with really, really liking what I do.  I hope you have the same feeling about your position.  I’ve been doing this for a lot of years and I’ve seen the growth in our career choice.  Years ago it seemed like we were just another “wife” or “mother” to those we supported.  Today, I feel a part of the organization and the decision making process.

Those of you who are younger are very lucky as you can very easily move up in the organization if you so desire.  For AHCAA it’s a double edged sword.  We love hearing of our counterparts moving up the ladder but we also don’t like losing you.  I for one am happy where I’m at and plan to retire from my current position.  If that is not your path, please be sure to initiate your replacement to the benefits of being an AHCAA member so we can keep the organization going.
